METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING POLARIZER AND LASER PROCESSING SYSTEM

A polarizer manufacturing method and a laser processing device are provided to form grating lines by directly drawing lines on a conductive thin film layer with a laser beam to make the number of processes smaller than that of a photolithographic method. A polarizer manufacturing method is composed of a step for forming a conductive thin film layer(30) on a first surface of a substrate(10) and a step for removing a conductive thin film layer corresponding to the processing lines by laser beams(TL1~TL6) irradiated along plural processing lines set on the conductive thin film layer to form plural grating lines defined as groove lines and a conductive thin film layer remaining between the groove lines.
