PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent soot from adhering on an intake passage and accessory equipment such as an EGR cooler and EGR valve. SOLUTION: A meandering channel forming part 20 provided with baffle plates 18, 19 to make flow of exhaust gas 8 meander is provided in a middle of an EGR pipe 11 (EGR channel) taking part of exhaust gas 8 out of an exhaust manifold 9 (exhaust passage) and re-circulating the same to an intake pipe 4 (intake passage). A purge port 21 which can freely open and close is provided on a channel turn back part where soot easily resides in the meandering channel forming part 20. The purge port 21 and a section right before a particulate filter 17 in an exhaust pipe 10 are connected by a purge line 22. An outlet opening and closing valve 23 (outlet opening and closing means) closing when the purge port 21 is opened is provided on the meandering channel forming part 20. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
