PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing technology capable of forming an image whose level is a permissible level or over that is determined subjectively. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus is provided, which includes a data set storage means for storing each data set, including a subjective evaluation value obtained by subjective evaluations by a plurality of people applied to a first test image, a physical evaluation value obtained by an objective evaluation of a second test image, and an image processing parameter used for forming the first and second test images; a subjective evaluation value entry means for entering one subjective evaluation value selected by a user among the subjective evaluation values; a physical evaluation value selection means for selecting one physical evaluation value, corresponding to the one subjective evaluation value from among the physical evaluation values; and an image processing means for applying image processing to an input image, in accordance with the image processing parameter, wherein the image processing parameter corresponds to the one physical evaluation value selected by the physical evaluation value selection means.
