A method for manufacturing an ultrasonic transducer having: a diaphragm pot having a surrounding wall and a diaphragm; a transducer element; a first damping element; and a second damping element, the method comprising: inserting the second damping element into the diaphragm pot, the second damping element being connected in a force-locking manner to an inner surface of the surrounding wall of the diaphragm pot and to an edge region of an inner side of the diaphragm in the diaphragm pot;fitting the first damping element into a through hole of the second damping element,removably mounting, before the insertion of the second damping element, a core having the shape and the dimensions of the first damping element on the transducer element, wherein the second damping element is introduced as a castable material into a region between the core and the inner surface of the surrounding wall of the diaphragm pot; andremoving the core to form the through hole, after the curing of the second damping element.
