An improved method for high frequency ventilation of a patient has a high frequency oscillator whose amplitude and frequency are adjustable to belt suit each particular patient, i.e. to best suit the computed tidal volume of that patient. The product of the fourth power of the tidal volume and the frequency is a constant value. The system includes self checking means to ensure optimum settings for the patient. |
