PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure security without impairing system function in a fault-tolerant system for computer having a plurality of computers and performing a series of calculations by using all or a part of computers. SOLUTION: If the result of processing in a co-processor which receives a calculation instruction is not correct, the co-processor asserts an exceptional flag, and outputs it to a defect detection part. Then, the defect detection part checks whether the number of times of the occurrence of the exceptional flag exceeds a defect determination standard value or not. When it exceeds the defect determination standard value, the co-processor is determined to have less reliability due to the occurrence of defect such as troubles, and a main processor separates the co-processor from a system.
