PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair which is used for learning especially suitable for the use of a new pupil, has simple structure, can be produced at low cost, needs no special edition gas cylinder, and can adjust the height of a seating surface from 300 millimeters to 460 millimeters steplessly. SOLUTION: A seating part, a post which includes a gas cylinder which supports the seating part so that it can adjust the height in a given range, a post holding member where the post fits precisely, and a leg where the post holding member is coupled. The coupling opening of the post holding member which runs through to an up-and-down direction is formed on the leg. A coupling height selection means fixed between the post holding member and the coupling opening can change connection height to a state that at least the upper half of the post holding member projects above the coupling opening and to a state that the lower half of the post holding member projects below the coupling opening.
