PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of enhancing the plant efficiency of a combined cycle fuel battery system.SOLUTION: A combined cycle power generation apparatus 10 includes a fuel battery such as a solid oxide fuel battery (SOFC) 12 containing an anode for generating exhaust gas. A reformer 14 for mixing hydrocarbon fuel and fuel cell exhaust gas downstream of a fuel battery converts the hydrocarbon fuel partially or wholly into hydrogen (H) and carbon monoxide (CO). A fuel passageway 17 directs a first part of reformed fuel to the entrance of a fuel battery anode 13. A cooler 18 of an organic Rankine cycle (ORC) or the like is configured to optionally remove heat from the rest of the reformed fuel, and feeds the cooled remaining part of the reformed fuel to a bottoming cycle 16 which may be an external combustion or internal combustion engine such as a reciprocating gas engine or a gas turbine driven in response to the cooled remaining part of the reformed fuel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
