PURPOSE: A washing machine and its control method are provided to prevent water overflowing inside a washing tub, to stop a washing process at the same time, and to inform it to a user when continuously supplying water by the defect of a water supply switch during a washing operation. CONSTITUTION: The control method of the washing machine contains: a water supply step to supply the washing water into a washing tub; a step to detect the water level inside the washing tub; a step to drain by opening a drainage valve when the detected water level is over the higher strange water level than the certain established water level; a step to repeat the water level detecting step and the drainage step; a step to stop a washing process and to continuously drain when the repeating step is over the certain numbers. The drainage step is able to drain to the established water level, stops the washing process, and generates an alarm at the same time. |
