What is described is a process for preparing organopolysiloxanes having terminal β-aminoalkyl groups, by, in a first step, reacting 1-sila-2-azacyclobutanes of the formula (II) with alcohols of the formula R8OH to obtain silanes which have β-aminoalkyl groups and are of the formula (I) where R1 is an R* radical or a silyl radical -SiR9R10R11 (II'), R1' is a hydrogen atom or R* and R*, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8, R9, R10 and R11 have the definition given in claim 1, and wherein silanes of the formula (I) are removed after the reaction, preferably by distillation, with the proviso that they contain not more than 10% by weight of alkoxysilanes having no radicals having basic nitrogen groups, and, in a second step, reacting the silanes of the formula (I) obtained from the first process step with organopolysiloxanes selected from the group of organopolysiloxanes having terminal hydroxyl groups, cyclic siloxanes or mixtures thereof to obtain organopolysiloxanes having terminal β-aminoalkyl groups. |
