The wavelength converting material is configured to absorb at least a portion of the first light and emit second light of a second peak wavelength. In some embodiments, the first wavelength converting material is (Ba 1-x Sr x ) 2-y-0.5z Si 5 N 8-z O z :Eu y 2+ where 0.2 < x < 0.3, (Ba 1-x Ca x ) 2-y-0.5z Si 5 N 8-z O z :Eu y 2+ where 0.01 < x < 0.2, or M 2 Si 5-a A a N 8-a O a :Eu 2+ where M = Sr, Ba, Ca; A = Al, B, Ga, Sc; and 0.01 < a < 0.2.
