The invention relates to a method of preventing and treating pemphigus vulgaris comprising administering a GSK3 blocker, and the use of such blockers in said prevention and treatment and in the manufacture of medicaments for preventing and treating pemphigus vulgaris. In particular the invention relates to a method of preventing and treating pemphigus vulgaris comprising administering a GSK3ß blocker, and the use of such blockers in said prevention and treatment and in the manufacture of medicaments for preventing and treating pemphigus vulgaris. Preferred is the use of GSK3ß blockers which are selective for GSK3ß, i.e. which selectively reduce enzyme activity of GSK3ß but not to a reasonable extent of GSK3a.
