<p>A composite board (10) is formed from a core (20) of resin-bonded softwood particles covered with a lamination (30) of a thermosetting plastic resin which includes particles of a hydrolysable glass matrix which releases silver ions (Ag+). The boards can be used as worksurfaces in hospitals and other areas, and are highly effective at destroying known antibiotic-resistant superbugs.</p> |
