PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate transfer body which is flexible and offers a high transfer rate to a sheet of paper with a coarse surface, suppression of generation of an abnormal image (with uneven density, white spots, or a residual image) caused by temperature/humidity environments, and reduced image density variation.SOLUTION: An intermediate transfer body, onto which a tonner image obtained by developing a latent image formed on an image carrier by means of tonner is transferred, has a laminate structure comprising at least a base layer and a surface layer. The surface layer contains a polyrotaxane cross-linker having at least cyclic molecules, a straight chain molecule that skewers through the cyclic molecules, and a blocking group that is bonded to each terminal of the straight chain molecule to prevent the cyclic molecules from being separated, an ion-conductive agent, and an acidic carbon black. A difference between a common logarithmic value of surface resistivity on a side with the surface layer at 10°C, 15%RH and a common logarithmic value of surface resistivity on the side with the surface layer at 27°C, 80%RH shall be no greater than 2 [Log(Ω/sq.)].SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
