PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system and a communication method, which are easy to use and inexpensive for users and which can perform mail processing based on instructions by users. SOLUTION: The communication system is equipped with a communication network 14 which includes a plurality of computers 1 connected through the internet network and a mail server 2 connected to each computer 1 to accumulate mails received and transmitted among users. In the communication system, a relay server 3 equipped with a decision means 6, a control means 7, a connection means 8, an analysis means 9, a processing means 10, and a transmission means 12 is disposed outside the communication network to establish a communication path 4 for communication between each computer 1 and the mail server 2.
