PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing coke where, in the case molded coal and dust coal are charged to the carbonization chamber of a coke furnace by a concentration blending method so as to be carbonized, using a new index not being a volatile matter VM, molded coal and/or dust coal capable of making the strength of the coke more securely higher.SOLUTION: Molded coal 1 obtained by molding pulverized coal and fine coal 2 are charged to a coke oven, and carbonization is performed to produce coke. A difference in the shrinkage rate[%] between the molded coal 1 and the fine coal 2 upon the carbonization is used as an index when the molded coal 1 and/or the fine coal 2 is prepared. In such a manner that the difference of the shrinkage rate [%] is made low, the description of the coke raw material composing the molded coal 1 and its blending rate are decided and/or the description of the coal composing the fine coal 2 is decided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
