PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guide a user's line of sight to a display which indicates the traveling direction at a branching road. SOLUTION: In this traveling-direction indication method for indicating the traveling direction at a branch route 52, by displaying the traveling direction at the branch route 52 in front of a course on a sub-display 25, when route guidance is performed by displaying own vehicle position mark 51 on a map 50 on a main display 24, before displaying the traveling direction at the branch route 52 on the sub-display 25, a traveling direction mark 60 indicating the traveling direction is displayed on the main display 24; and then the traveling direction mark 60 is erased from the main display 24, and the traveling direction at the branch route 52 is displayed on the sub-display 25.
