A method and an apparatus of correcting a focal length are provided to give an accurate result value according to subject's eyesight and eye state by adding a correction value, stored in a data table, to a measured value in case of focus mismatch. A method of correcting a focal length includes the steps of: checking whether a measurement button is operated(S_1); checking whether a subject's eye position is matched with a focus of an optometer(S_2); acquiring a measured value in case of focus match; setting the measured value as a result value(S_6); outputting the result value(S_5); checking whether the focal length is larger than a cornea length in case of focus mismatch(S_3); acquiring a proximity length by subtracting the focal length from the cornea length in case that the focal length is larger than the cornea length(S_31); loading a correction value on a data table according to the proximity length(S_32); calculating the result value by using the loaded correction value(S_33); checking whether the cornea length is larger than the focal length in the step of S_3(S_4); acquiring a separation length by subtracting the focal length from the cornea length in case that the cornea length is larger than the focal length(S_41); calculating the result value by using the loaded correction value(S_43); and outputting the result values calculated in the steps of (S_33,S_43)(S_5).
