PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor position detector which can prolong the life by limiting a driving current of a light-emitting element, calculate life information and improve reliability.SOLUTION: A light quantity control section 4 of a light-emitting element 1 controls a driving current 4A so as to limit the current when the current exceeds an allowable current value. A life calculation section 10 calculates the remaining life on the basis of the driving current and the allowable current value if the driving current is limited and, if the driving current is not limited, outputs the remaining life calculated from initial information 10B and signal correction amount 7B, an alarm signal which is output when the remaining life is shorter than a life alarm value, and an error signal which is output when the remaining life is shorter than the life limit value, as life information 10A. |
