<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simplified stanchion of a simple structure, which ensures safety by preventing an accident of fall, for example, into an opening provided in wire netting, without use of fire. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This simplified stanchion comprises: a stanchion body 2 which is composed of an upside tube body 5 elongated like a shaft in a vertical direction, and a downside tube body 6 connected to the upside tube body 5 by means of a connecting member in the state of being separated below the upside tube body 5 and equipped with a grounding portion 6A having a lower end provided with an approximately-horizontal bottom surface; a screw shaft 11 for vertical movement, which is elongated like a shaft in a vertical direction inside the stanchion body 2, and which has a male screw portion; a hook 4 which is connected to the downside of the screw shaft 11; an operation portion 3 which has a pin member 8 mounted between the upside and downside tube bodies 5 and 6 in the state of setting an axial direction approximately horizontal, and which is turnably provided in the stanchion body 2; and a screw member 10 which is screwed to the screw shaft 11 and attached to the pin member 8.
