<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device in which paper is prevented from being clogged or the position of image formation is prevented from being displaced when images are formed on both front and rear surfaces of the paper. <P>SOLUTION: In a printer 1, first width restraining mechanisms 10a, 10b are disposed in the paper storage compartment 30a of a feed cassette 30, can move relative to the center C of the image formation area of an image formation part 50, and are positioned according to the width W of the paper. An inverting and conveying mechanism 40 is installed in a housing 70, inverts the front and rear sides of the paper passing through the image formation part 50, and conveys it again to the image formation part 50. A second width restraining mechanism 20 is installed in the inverting and conveying mechanism 40, movable in the lateral direction, and positioned according to the width W of the paper.
