Lead battery for operation with long storage times contg. V. gives minimal capacity loss without the usual detrimental effects on the properties of the battery. 0.01-5.0 (0.1-0.75) wt.% V is used. w.r.t. the compsn. in the form of V cpds. esp. V2O5 or VOSO4 which can also be used in the electrolyte. The grid metal consists of soft lead, dispersion-hardened lead, a Pb-Ca alloy or a Pb-Sb alloy with 4 wt.% Sb. |
