Liquid distribution onto tricklers - in exchange column using wires from feeder trough

A tray for uniformly distributing liquid onto the contact surfaces of exchange columns utilises U-shaped wires for this distribution; the tray comprises a number of parallel, open-topped troughs, supplied from a common source; the U-shaped wires are suspended inverted over the edges of the trough, so that one arm of the wire is on the inside, while the other extends down the outside of the trough, where it is in contact with a vertical wall suspended below the trough transversely to it and continuing downwards from it. There are a number of such walls parallel to one another below the troughs. Pref. the wires are very close together along the line of the trough, so that in pairs they embrace a vertical trickler wall between them.
