<p>1399780 Pile fabrics R REINHARD 15 March 1973 [23 March 1972] 12632/73 Heading D1K Pile fabrics are manufactured by weaving a fabric with spaced groups 1, Fig 1, of warps with weft floats 2 between them, cutting the fabric warpwise along lines 3 to form strips with wefts 2 projecting from one side to form the pile, abutting the strips by their lateral areas one against another and connecting them together such that the woven parts 1 form a base layer and the free ends of the unbound wefts form an upstanding pile, Fig 3. The pile fabric may be patterned by introducing different wefts by shuttle changing. The fabric strips may be attached to each other by thermowelding, when they include thermbweldable yarns or by adhesive or sewing or stapling.</p> |
