The reinforcing rods are bound together in clusters, providing a wider overall diameter than that pertaining to a single rod of the same length, the purpose here being to make such bundles easily adaptable to a prescribed moment pattern, and easily and inexpensively laid in place. The ends of two or more rods are displaced relative to each other, on at least one side of the unit, which may contain rods of different lengths, lined up symmetrically to the unit, or rods of the same length with ends mutually displaced. The rods may be splayed outwards at the lateral ends of the unit, and in some cases bent round into a hook shape. The connecting elements may serve as spacers to preserve the interval from adjacent reinforcing units.
|
