<p>Solid composite prod. useful as a support for nutrient media for microbiological investigations is prepd. by (a) preparing at least one membrane filter from a polymer-forming material (I), (b) contacting the membrane filter, while (I) is still in the gel state, with a porous material (II), and (c) allowing the prod. to solidify. Gives a strong bond between (I) and (II) without use of adhesive, even when the prod. has a relatively large area. The original properties of (I) and (II) are retained, and nutrients can diffuse from (II) into (I) effectively. Reproducible results are obtd.</p> |
