Disclosed is a method for selecting a facies model realisation. Method includes a step of selecting a grid-cell or window location for a facies model realisation. Method then includes selecting a most prominent facies for facies within facies model realisation at grid-cell or window location. Method includes calculating a volume comprising selected grid-cell or window location using a computer processor, and calculating a facies net volume based on most prominent facies selected and volume.
