Workpiece extractor for pressure die casting machine - where jib swivels casting into automatic inspection station and then into discharge station

Alongside the machine is a platform provided with bearing blocks for a pair of levers joined at their top ends via a plate on which is a turntable. On the turntable is a jib ending in a pair of tongs lifting a casting out of the dies. The levers move the jib from a horizontal position to a vertical position in which the casting is automatically inspected; the turntable is then rotated through 90 deg. for removal of the casting. An intermediate lever, crank and motor are pref. employed to actuate the levers carrying the turntable. The design enables a high prodn. rate to be achieved.
