<p>Cutouts, for holding mortar, for joining a series of elements together with tongue and groove action, or for other purposes, are provided in building elements made of aerated concrete. Cutouts are in the form of an open channel (4) on opposite side surfaces of the element (1), passing through the whole length, aligned approx. horizontally in the normal usage position. In production, with cutout units inserted in a form box and then removed from the concrete mass, after which the block is turned through 90 deg, released from the form, cut and steam-hardened, the cutout units are withdrawn after the concrete mass has risen. Shrinkage and onset of compensating moisture are accelerated.</p> |
