The heat recuperator (1) is built into the back of the fireplace (2). The recuperator consists of a steel casing with inclined 'T' shaped, internal baffles (8) arranged in rows and welded to the front plate of the casing (1a) only. This arrangement ensures maximum heat transfer to the baffles from the fire and a corresponding increase in heat transfer to the fresh air by virtue of the prolonged flow path over and around the baffles. A hinged damper (11) is located at the base of the recuperator controlled by a rod (13). The damper can be arranged to operate with a back inlet (10) or an underflow inlet (9). Warm air flows into the room through the outlet (7) located either side of the fireplace.
|
