<p>The equipment grips and transports a socketed stoneware pipe and dips it in a liq. bath, and comprises a body inserted in the pipe and inflated by compressed air. The body is a double ring (11), which when inflated engages by its inner section (10a) with the socket inner surface, and by its outer one (10b) with the outer surface. The ring can be made of sheet steel and rectangular section, with a peripheral slit in the underside slightly wider than the socket wall. The two edges of the slot (11a,11b) are joined to the top part of the ring by sealing membranes (12a,12b) so as to form airtight annular chambers. The membranes can be of textile-reinforced rubber.</p> |
