Compsn for improving the yield and quality of agricultural produce contains at least one triazine deriv of formula (I). R1 is 1-4C alkylthio, alkoxy or alkylamino, anilino, 2-6C dialkylamino (opt the alkyls complete a heterocycle, e.g. piperidine, with an N or other heteroatom such as oxygen in the ring), 1-4C alkyl or phenyl. R2 is 1-4C alkyl, phenyl or NR4R5. R3 is 1-4C alkyl, phenyl or tolyl (opt substd by halo)benzyl or cyclohexyl. R4 and R5 are each H, 2-5C acyl, phenyl, 1-4C alkyl or together are 2-6C aliphatic or cycloaliphatic alkylidene, or alkylidene substd by 2-furfuryl, phenyl, halophenyl or nitrophenyl. (I) are particularly useful when applied to cereals but can also be used on sugar beet, sugar cane, cotton, maize, rape, soya, beans, potatoes, peas, carrots, etc. They may be applied before or after emergence of the crop. (I) are formaulated conventionally as solns., emulsions, powders etc with standard auxiliaries. The application rate of (I) is 0.5-100 g per hectare, opt together with other plant growth regulators such as ethylene precursors, maleic hydrazide, etc.
