<p>An internal combustion engine having inlet valve ports (11, 13) closable by respective inlet valves.</p><p>So that a high rate of flow of air within the inlet valve ports (11,13) can be maintained even at relatively low engine speeds, the engine has an adjustable device (19,44) movable in response to changes of engine speed whereby, at least at low engine speed, the air passing through each inlet valve port (11, 13) is caused to flow as a vortically moving mass.</p> |
