<p>The invention relates to a process for removing volatile constituents from metallic loose materials. In order to design this process to be simpler and more economical than existing comparable processes, it is provided according to the invention that the loose material is placed into a receptacle which can be evacuated, the interior of the receptacle is evacuated and at the same time the walls of the receptacle are heated.
