<p>Plant comprises a number of rotary baskets of vertical axis receiving the product to be centrifuged and provided with a screen through which the liq. phase passes. The liq. phase is recovered in a collector surrounding the basket. The solid particles slide over the screen and are ejected at its upper end. The baskets are placed in a single receptacle and provided with removable partitions allowing each basket to be isolated. The partitions are withdrawn in normal operation. The space taken up is less than in the case of existing centrifuges of this type, used in e.g. the sugar industry and in which the basket is placed in a large vessel so that the particles ejected from the basket are slowed down by friction with the air before striking the wall of the container and are not broken.</p> |
