PURPOSE:To reduce the number of cables by separating a keyboard from a central processing unit and connecting a cursor control part to the keyboard side to have freedom to installation conditions of the keyboard and the cursor controller. CONSTITUTION:A keyboard housing 12 is separated from the central processing unit, and a cursor controller 13 is connected to the keyboard side. The controller 13 generates cursor control data and sends it to a transfer control part 17 in the housing 12. This data is switched and is inputted selectively to the device 17 and is transferred to a register 15. Data set in the register 15 is processed by a CPU & display control part 14 to become a required signal, and this signal is sent to a CRT 11. As the result, the housing 12 and a CPU housing 10 are connected by one set of cable, and the mobility of the housing 12 is improved, and the number of cables is not increased. Further, the housing 13 can be used together with the housing 12 as a pair, and private wirings to the housing 10 are unnecessary, and thus, the number of cables is reduced.
