发明名称 THIN FILM MAGNETIC STORAGE BODY
摘要 PURPOSE:To increase the lubricity and hardness of a surface and to improve mechanical durability by implanting >=1 ion selected from nitrogen ion, boron ion and carbon ion into the surface layer of a thin film magnetic storage body facing a magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:A cobalt-nickel-phosphorus (Co-Ni-P) magnetic layer 2 having 0.01-0.1mum film thickness is coated by a plating method on a nonmagnetic base plate 1 consisting of a nonmagnetic nickel alloy plated on an aluminum blank plate and polished and a protective film layer 3 (for example, SiO2, cobalt oxide, etc.) is coated by as much as 50-500Angstrom film thickness on such cobalt-nickel-phosphorus magnetic layer. Nitrogen ion is implanted to the protective film layer from above by an ion implantation method. The coefft. of friction is decreased and the hardness is increased by implanting said ion into the layer 3 in the above-mentioned way and therefore the mechanical durability of the thin film magnetic storage body is considerably improved.
