PURPOSE:The titled test piece having improved immediate effect, utility, specificity, and long-period shelf stability, comprising nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, etc., 5 kinds of enzymes including catalse, a dyestuff, and a carrier. CONSTITUTION:(A) 0.001-2mol/l nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate, (B) 10<2>-10<11> unit/l alcohol oxidase, (C) 10<2>-10<11> unit/l diaphorase, (D) 10<2>-10<11> unit/l aldehyde dehydrogenase, (E) 10<2>-10<11> unit/l catalase and (F) 0.01-10mol/l dyestuff (e.g., methylene blue) to color or to fade by the action of the component C are dissolved in 0.01- 2mol/l buffer solution such as tris hydrochloride buffer solution, etc. at 4-12pH. A carrier (e.g., filter paper) insoluble or slightly soluble in water at normal temperature is immersed in the solution and impregnated with it, and it is dried to give a test piece for detecting alcohol, having 1mol/l concentration.
