PURPOSE:An aqueous mixture of starting components for the titled zeolite is combined with alcohol and heat treated to produce the titled zeolite of high crystallinity with markedly shortened heat treatment hours. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous mixture of soluble silica, sodium aluminate and sodium hydroxide in which the molar ratio of H2O/Na2O, Na2O/SiO2 and SiO2/ Al2O3 are 20-200, 0.1-0.5 and 10-200, respectively, is aged or not aged, combined with seed crystals and alcohol in an amount of 0.1-10mol% based on the water in the aqueous mixture, preferably n-propyl alcohol and they are heat treated to produce the titled zeolite. The addition of alcohol markedly increases the production rate of the zeolite. The resultant zeolite has increased crystallinity and is used as a molecular sieve in gas-liquid separator, gas drier and ion exchanger.
