PURPOSE:To improve the operability of a keyboard by optionally setting up corresponding relation between individual keys on the keyboard and key information inputted through these keys. CONSTITUTION:A system control part 6 in a composite processor provided with a keyboard system 1 consists of a CPU61, a ROM62, a RAM63, etc. and an operating system and an initial program are loaded from a floppy disc device 4 to a system area in the RAM63 when turning on a power supply. A code conversion table for converting matrix information inputted from the keyboard 1 into key code information is stored in the RAM64. The conversion table is made rewritable so that the key information corresponding to individual keys can be set up. In the setting processing, the code conversion table having a reference key array is loaded to a table RAM64 by an initial program based upon the ON of the power supply and executed by a key array changing program.
