PURPOSE:To provide the titled quadruplex type rolling mill elevating remarkably the roll bender effect in a narrow width material and preventing the minus plate crowning in a wide width material by constituting with combining the chamfer shape of a backup roll and the drum shaped-roll rofile of a work roll. CONSTITUTION:The end part of the up-and-down backup rolls 1a, 1b of this quadruplex type rolling mill is made to a tapered chamfer shape and the legnth L of the parallel part of the barrel central part is made less than the minimum width Bm of the rolling material. The roll barrel end part of the up-and-down work rolls 2a, 2b is also made to reverse chamfer shape and the mother line shape such as the roll diameter being increased gradually toward the roll barrel end part at the part of the rolls 1a, 1b, is given. With the above constitution the roll bender effect in a narrow width material can be remarkably elevated and also the quadruplex type rolling mill having excellent corresponding to a plate width with respect to a plate crown controlling zone can be offered. |
