PURPOSE:To obtain good still pictures with simple configuration by providing two heads with different azimuths for recording and normal reproducing and arranging a head with same azimuth as one of the heads for reproducing the still pictures near the said head. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic heads 1a and 1b with different azimuths are arranged at the interval of 180 deg. and another head 1c with same azimuth as the head 1b is provided near the head 1b. The heads 1a and 1b are on the same rotating plane on the rotating drum 2, but head head 1c is on a rotating plane away by distance W from the above rotating plane. The distance.T is identical to the track width. The recording and reproducing are done using the heads 1a and 1b. When still pictures are reproduced, the head 1a and 1c are used.
