PURPOSE:To perform book-binding correctly in multiple copy thereof according to a method wherein when the sheets supplied from the paper feeder are folded, one by one, halfway down their length and then their folded edges of the sheets are fitted to a stitching base for intermediate sewing, the intermediate sewing unit is operated every time when a specific paper from such as a board is defected. CONSTITUTION:This bookbinder comprises a control section A, a feeder B, a folder C, a collator D, a stitching section E, a binding section F and a stacker G. The sheets supplied continuously from the feeder B are folded halfway down their length by rollers 6 and 7 at the collator C, and piled up by a conveying roller 14 at the stacker tray 52, 54 while said sheets are positioned by rotating rollers 40, 45. The sheets are then sewn into a book from by a stitcher 59 at the sewing section E upon the detection of a signal indicating that the complete set of sheets for a copy has been supplied from the feeder B. The sewn book is dropped into the stacker G. |
