PURPOSE:To obtain a film-forming material capable of imparting sufficiently high adhesive force even by the use in wet state, and free from the problems such as polymerization shrinkage, etc., by compounding a polymer having phosphorus-containing group with a specific metal alkoxide and optionally a chelating agent. CONSTITUTION:The objective material can be produced by compounding (A) the polymer having the phosphorus-containing group of formula I (Z1 and Z2 are O or S), preferably the group of formula II [Z3 is O, S or NR' (R' is H, alkyl or aryl); R is H, alkyl, aryl or group of formula III (R'' is R'); n is 0 or 1] with (B) the alkoxide of one or more metals selected from Ti, Zr, Al, Sn, Ca and Fe, and if necessary (C) a chelating agent such as a benzoic acid derivative, catechol, etc. The addition of the component C enables the long-term storage of the film-forming material. The amount of the component B is 0.02-1.0mol per 1mol of the phosphorus-containing group of the component A and that of the component C is 0.1-4mol per 1mol of the component B.
