PURPOSE:To decrease the data transmitting delaying time by using the packet switching system for the network and the data terminal interface and the line switching system by the common line signal system for the interface between exchange stations inside the network, in the converting equipment for communicating the data. CONSTITUTION:The section between a packet terminal 28 and a packet communicating processor 21 is connected by a CCITT recommendation procedure X.25, and when the packet communicating processor 21 receives a CR (call request) packet from the packet terminal, the CR packet is transferred through a packet channel interface 9 to a switching control unit 23. The processor in a line switching processor 22 sends the using trunk, the channel number in the trunk and the communicating destination address to an opponent exchange by the switching control unit 23. An opponent side exchange determines the incoming terminal from the received address information, and sets the path in the exchange in the same way. Consequently, the section between the terminal and the network can keep the packet interface, build the data network line switching and the packet delaying time can be minimized.
