In order to reduce the water pressure automatically to the permissible water pressure when the water pressure increases in a sanitary mixing valve (1) with a water outlet (10) and a cold-water and hot-water conduit (6, 7), a housing (8) with two through passages (11, 12), to which the feed conduits are connected, is inserted into the feed lines (6, 7) of the mixing valve (1) upstream of the said mixing valve. The housing (8) also contains a third passage (13), designed as a blind hole, to which a pipe (9) leading to the outlet (10) of the mixing valve (1) is connected. Also arranged in the housing (8), between at least one of the through passages (11, 12) and the third passage (13) is an elastic shaped part (21) which separates them from one another and, when a water-pressure limit value is exceeded, yields elastically from its separating position and connects the through passage (11, 12) to the third passage (13). <IMAGE>
