PURPOSE:To simplify the device constitution to shorten the assembling and working time and to reduce the cost by detecting obstacles in all directions by a frame-shaped bumper to detect them in all directions on the same condition. CONSTITUTION:A frame-shaped bumper 8 which is arranged on the outside peripheral part of an unattended carriage body 1 and a required gap apart from this body 1 is relatively movably attached to the unattended carriage body 1 through bumper cranks 6a and 6b. If an obstacle strikes on the bumper 8, bumper cranks 6a and 6b are deflected against the charging force of a spring 9 as shown by chain lines, and a proximity switch part 10 to be detected is separated from detecting switches 7a and 7b thereby, and detecting switches 7a and 7b are operated to detect that the obstacle strikes on the bumper 8.
