Actuation mechanism for bicycles and the like, characterized by a large semi-articulated pedal at each of the cranks, having a front part, from the protection axis to the front wheel, which is larger than in a traditional pedal, the semiarticulation joining the pedals to the respective cranks in such a way that they can rotate only in one direction, not in the opposite direction; by applying a force at the extremity of the large pedal, which cannot rotate in that direction, the pedal cooperates jointly with the crank, thereby producing the effect of a much longer crank and saving efforts to the user.
