PURPOSE:To keep the stable state of sliding, to prevent the generation of noises and to lengthen the life by laminating a sintered metal impregnated with oil on the surface on which segments in a commutator for a DC motor are slid with a brush. CONSTITUTION:Copper plates D for a plurality of electrodes 4b in a commutator 4 for a DC motor are monolithic-molded with a resin holder 4a. Sintered layers C in which the alloy powder of gold and silver is sintered and impregnated with oil are formed on the surfaces of the copper plates D. The mean particle size of the alloy powder is brought to 0.1mum, the thickness of the layer C is brought to 50mum, and aliphatic group oil having low viscosity is used as the impregnated oil. Accordingly, the stable state of sliding is maintained between the layers C and a brush, thus preventing the generation of noises, then resisting long-term use. The DC motor is suitable for a tape recorder.
