A method and an installation for phase transition from gas to liquid is indicated. The method is carried out in a closed working circuit which consists of an underpressure region, a liquid region and a gaseous overpressure region. The underpressure is maintained by means of the hydrostatic power of a liquid column consisting of liquefied gas.
